6 cities to gain insights thanks to footfall data

Six Danish cities have started using the latest WiFi technology combined with people-counting sensors to gain more knowledge about the number of visitors, movement patterns, and demographics.

Ringkøbing, Skjern, Tarm, Hvide Sande, Søndervig and Videbæk are all part of Ringkøbing Fjord Handelsråd, located on the west coast of Denmark. The area has a rich stream of tourists visiting every year, enjoying long beaches and beautiful surroundings.

Footfall data with WiFi and sensors

To gain more insights into visitor flow all cities have been equipped with WiFi access points sensors to highlight movement patterns and the number of people who moves in the area.

People counting sensors have also been installed in the city to gain demographic insights into how many men, women, children, and adults visit the cities.

Ringkøbing Fjord Handelsråd has chosen IMAS flexible people-counting system without any binding time. The data will be used to create a more vibrant city with better business opportunities and possibilities for visitors to enjoy themselves while visiting.
