Travel will become more relaxed at Thailand’s three busiest airports

Updated: Apr 12, 2022

This improvement has been made possible by joint efforts between Xovis, IMAS, and Turnkey Communication Service PCL (TKC).

“We are honored to receive this contract from TKC. We are looking forward to adding value together with Xovis to the operation of AoT airports in Thailand, and a long-term partnership with TKC, says Peter Nicolaus, CEO of the IMAS Group.

The Xovis people flow management solution is about to make travel less stressful and more relaxing for the 80 million passengers who use Thailand’s three main international airports each year[1] (pre-Covid). Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok) Airport, Don Mueang International, and Phuket International are going to implement the solution to allow passengers to travel safer, faster, and in a more relaxed frame of mind.

Xovis, the IMAS Group, and TKC have been awarded a major contract by Airports of Thailand (AoT), which currently operates a total of six airports in the country, three more to be added in 2022. The consortium will install passenger tracking systems at the three busiest airports in Thailand — Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok) Airport, Don Mueang International, and Phuket International — which handle over 85% of AoT's passenger traffic.

The joint solution from Xovis, international market leader for intelligent people flow solutions in retail, airports and transportation, and IMAS, specialist in analyzing and presenting people flow data, is a real-time tool for monitoring passenger flows. It uses both visual information and operational data on the number of passengers in the departure, arrival, and transit areas. Ultimately, passengers will benefit from an enhanced travelling experience, such as shorter waiting times in check-in lines, during security checks and at passport controls, while AoT will profit regarding their non-aeronautical revenue.

"Xovis is proud to be a part of Airports of Thailand’s initiative in offering passengers innovative, safer, and smarter ways to travel as our industry recovers from the impact of the pandemic. This deployment marks a significant milestone and lays the groundwork for our long-term collaboration to enhance the passenger experience for the three airports with the highest volume of passenger traffic in Thailand ", says Andreas Fähndrich, CEO of Xovis AG.

“We are honored to receive this contract from TKC. We are looking forward to adding value together with Xovis to the operation of AoT airports in Thailand, and a long-term partnership with TKC, says Peter Nicolaus, CEO of the IMAS Group.
